About Way Out West
Way Out West fishes aboard The Legend — a family tradition three generations deep on the Pacific.
Captained by Steve Taft out of H&M Landing in San Diego, The Legend is a 75ʹ USCG-certified long-range machine running everything from 1.5-day offshore trips to 3-day Baja runs for trophy bluefin, yellowfin, dorado and wahoo.
We run the trips, film the how-to's, and post the real reports so you know what's biting before you ever leave the dock. The apparel and tackle in the shop is the same gear we fish. Pull up a spot on the rail — we'll see you out there.
